Be thou on the earth ~~~ Job 37:6
Growing up in Midlothian, VA there were fire hydrant’s everywhere. You just didn’t notice them because they were plain metal and so abundant.
When we would go to Bon Air, to visit my grandparents, those fire hydrant’s were painted like people and you noticed them! They were painted like girls and boys, women and men, mothers and fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers and some were painted like animals. Wish I had pictures of those to share with you.
Living in Paint Bank, VA for almost 25 years, you just don’t see fire hydrant’s. They are no where to be seen on the mountain or in the small community.
Yesterday, coming across this painted guy in the snow, reminded me of those painted figures and how valuable it is to remember that there is something out there, very visible, yet “hidden”, that we can use to quench the fire in our lives.
As the storm approaches, and lightning strikes, there is power in the precious name of Jesus; whose blood makes us “whiter than snow”. Call upon Him, and He will be there.
