Green Acres is the place to be.
Farm livin’ is the life for me.
Land spreadin’ out so far and wide.

You can keep your good ole city life, just give me that countryside!

The mountains is where I’d rather stay.
I just love the smell of curing hay.
I adore a pond, or stream, in which to play.
Dah-ling, oh, how I love a mountainside.

…The chores.
…The outdoors.

…Fresh air.

…Fence repair.
…Free range chickens and gathering eggs.
…Gardening and canning.
…Hunting and fishing.
…Visiting with friends and neighbors.
…Cooking for family on Sunday’s.
…Porch swings.
…Screen doors slammin’.
…Laughter and…Bare feet.
…Skies so dark you can count the stars.
…Watching children chasing fireflies.
…Or butterflies.
…Long walks, or running with my dog; looking for treasures as we plod!
I was a wife, a cook and a maid;
a farm hand that also placed the ads for hay that was baled.
Hello, city life.
Green Acres I was there.

Hahaha!  Couldn’t resist.  Two years ago I was blessed to witness this unusual scene!  The bull and all of Red’s sister cows, and their calves, waiting for the new addition. 🐂  This was very rare as most times the cows go off to give birth to their calves in a quiet, private spot.
